Pseudo-diet quasi-resolution

So, I'm not one to make new year's resolutions. Not just because I'm a notorious procrastinator, though that certainly plays a part. Also, I gave up dieting a long time ago. I believe in "everything in moderation, including moderation." When it comes to eating, my various intolerance and allergies limit my choices enough.

However, I recently began trying on outfits for my upcoming wedding. My chest size is 46". My gut size is 50". I somehow crept up to about 225 lbs. So I have decided that, if for nothing else, I don't want to have to shop at a Big & Tall store for my groom's outfit.

Then I recently watched a new episode of Good Eats. (My FAVORITE show on Food Network.) I swear I did a double-take when I saw Alton Brown. He lost 50 pounds by following a simple "Four List" plan. Not a "diet" as he happily asserts. Just a sensible approach to eating well.

Color me inspired. I'm going to start tweaking my habits starting this week. I'll probably blog here some ideas, plans, and schemes, as well as my progress. I'll post recipes along the way as well.

Wish me luck!
